Intro to Backcountry Touring Clinic (1 Week)


TAKE THE FIRST STEP…

Ready to get out of the resort and find out what this whole touring business is about? Smart move! You’re about to truly experience the serenity of the mountains.

You will be gently immersed into the world of backcountry touring with the assistance of a certified guide and instructor, who will take your through the steps needed to set you up for success outside the resort.

This is a 7 Day Course where you will get:

  • 5 days of coaching & instructional backcountry touring
    • Rider development and off piste sessions.
    • Steep & deep skiing clinics
    • Guided backcountry touring days
    • Video analysis sessions
    • Advice on purchasing your own AT equipment (if interested)
    • Advice on efficient use of equipment
    • Pack organisation & advice on nutrition for touring
  • OPTIONAL: Add a 1 day Companion Rescue Skills (CRS) course to your week!
    • Backcountry first aid
    • Emergency search & rescue procedures

Avalanche Skills & Backcountry Training Program

So you’re ready to ride in the backcountry but you don’t know what to do with all the gear in your pack? It’s all good, we’ve got you covered! Join us for two weeks of adventure and personal development as you take your first steps to learning about avalanche safety and backcountry travel.

You’ll never look at the mountains in the same way after taking this mind blowing course that will expand your horizons forever.

MINI SEASON (5 WEEKS)


Instructor & Backcountry Training Program

Imagine an opportunity where you can collaborate with like minded people and expand into new networks while you take on that personal challenge you’ve always dreamed of in the mountains.

This 5 week program is facilitated by an internationally recognized ISIA Instructor Trainer, who will give you the training needed to pass your Level 1 Instructor Certification AND the Avalanche Skills Training course… PLUS you will get the unique opportunity to take your knowledge into the field, so can get the experience needed to work in the ski industry, or take up recreational touring.

This is a 5 Week Program where each week you will have 5 days of training provided and 2 days off, where you can either go freeriding or come along on a cultural tour organised by Evergreen.

GAME CHANGER (10 WEEKS)


10 Weeks in Hakuba…

So you’ve finally found the time to do a snow season…? Why not take this opportunity to learn everything you need to know to maximise your experience. Earn your instructor certification AND the Avalanche Skills Training course… THEN get the unique opportunity to take your knowledge into the field.

You can choose between taking an instructor focused pathway OR a backcountry focused pathway, so you have the flexibility to tailor the experience according to your own personal direction.

We give you a window into the ski industry where you can try your hand at teaching, plus you will gain skills and experience to make informed decisions and risk assessments with your friends in the backcountry. Finally, we will step you through essential medical, search and rescue skills to get you and your crew out of trouble if the unexpected does happen.

Our courses are delivered by internationally recognised, fully certified ISIA instructor trainers, avalanche and wilderness first aid professionals.

You are about to become a well rounded and mountain educated ‘Snow Pro’ on this course packed full of quality time on snow, so you can develop your riding and push yourself to the next level while you learn.

This is a 10 Week Program where each week you will have 5 days of training provided and 2 days off, where you can either go freeriding or come along on a cultural tour organised by Evergreen.
