CSIA LEVEL 1 SKI INSTRUCTOR COURSE

The Level 1 ski instructor certification is for any competent parallel skier, aged 15 years or older, and seeking to work as a ski instructor. The Level 1 candidate can expect to be exposed to a variety of terrain, snow conditions and terrain features. The level 1 course is an introduction to ski teaching, CSIA technique and methodology, and the role of ski teaching within the ski industry. It combines the basics of practical ski teaching methods, technical understanding and development of guest service skills, specifically addressing children’s skiing..

December 2019: 8th to 13th (fully booked), 15th to 20th (fully booked) & 22nd to 27th.
January 2020: 10th to 15th & 17th to 22th
February 2020: 11th to 16th & 21th to 26th.
March 2020: 6th to 11th, 13th to 18th

Passing the exam is not guaranteed. If you are not confident you meet the level we highly recommend you attend the Prep Course.

CSIA LEVEL 2 SKI INSTRUCTOR COURSE

You should take this course if you are a Level 1 Instructor with some teaching experience, love to teach, and have a desire to take your teaching skills to the next level. You should be confident and comfortable demonstrating intermediate to advanced riding in corresponding terrain.

CSIA TEACHING CHILDREN MODULE

The Teaching Children Module is a one day program. It is designed for any instructor that has completed the level 1 certification and provides a more in depth understanding of how children develop both mentally and physically at different ages. The module also provides practical teaching situations for developing children of all ages as well as safety and class control. The indoor component focuses on communication with children. There is no pass/fail evaluation for this module. All participants will earn 10 education credits for completing this module.
